Job Description : POSITION TITLE: Admissions Clerk CasualSTATUS: Casual NTE 1040 hrs.SALARY: 5A $20.27/hrFLSA: Non-ExemptPCN : TP01388UNION STATUS: 99 Non-RepresentedREPORTS TO: Animal Control ManagerPOSITIONS SUPERVISED: NoneCloses: 04/03/2022 9:00 PM AKBASIC FUNCTION: Perform admission functions for the Animal Control Shelter. Serve as primary contact for all customers.TYPICAL DUTIES: 1. Perform adoptions, redemptions, and paperwork associated with animals in the shelter, with attention to detail and customer service.2. Respond to phones calls, emails, and walk-ins regarding shelter policies, lost and found animals, animal availability, and other office information.3. Responsible for accurately maintaining a variety of records, various logs, and other documentation.4. Receive and record cash payments for adoptions and redemptions of animals and other Division cash transactions. Balance cash drawer daily.5. Market animals for adoption.6. Research animal ownership using microchip and ID tag databases and other resources.7. Represent Animal Control during community outreach events.8. Perform janitorial duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of general office experience of which one year must be working with the public; switchboard experience preferred.2. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer for a variety of computer programs (MS Word, Publisher, and Excel required). Previous exposure to an electronic record system preferred. Ability to type at a proficient level. Ability to operate a variety of office machines (copier, scanner, fax, multi-function phone, printers etc.).3. Experience with cash handling and deposits.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES1. Ability to write legibly and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and courteously under stressful, highly emotional situations with the general public, other organizations/agencies, and other employees.2. Demonstrated ability to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions, to apply FNSB Code governing Animal Control Operations to varied situations, and to perform work in a timely, orderly, and accurate manner.3. Ability to maintain confidentiality.OTHER1. A PROFICIENCY TEST MAY BE ADMINISTERED.2. Successful applicant may be required to take a series of rabies prophylaxis vaccinations.3.
