We are looking for individuals who want to join our team and grow together.About the position: We are delighted to announce an exciting open position as an Andrology Laboratory Assistant at the Columbia University Fertility Center, one of the preeminent fertility centers in the U.S. The assistant will be responsible for Andrology Lab sample intake and provide assistance within the lab as needed.The ideal applicant should be highly motivated and organized, able to work independently, demonstrate effective communication (oral and written), have excellent time management and be able to adapt to fast paced environment.Duties: Witnessing procedures and maintaining chain of custody of samplesSterile technique, labeling plastic-ware and preparation culture mediaOrdering and rotation of the gas tanks for the embryo culture systemOrdering and rotation of the liquid nitrogen tanks for cryopreservation storage, filling the storage tanks on a weekly basisPerforming daily, weekly, monthly and annual quality control on the laboratoryMaintain the laboratory; clean, restock, clerical duties, light liftingAssist the laboratory team with intake and release of cryopreserved samplesInventory control, ordering, restocking supplies, deliver and unpack suppliesMay be trained in IUI and cryopreservation as assigned by the Andrology SupervisorPerform data entry of procedures into the EMRRequirements: Bachelor’s Degree or two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceMedical Specialty:Ob/GynSchedule:Monday to FridayWeekend availabilityEducation:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:Laboratory: 1 year (Preferred)Healthcare: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
