The Role Responsibilities
Summary:
The primary responsibility of the role is to provide support to Associate Director, Strategic Initiatives & Execution and help project manage and drive the execution of cross FI strategic initiatives, working closely with colleagues responsible for the BBD/CorrBk/Affiliates, Fintech/NPM/Crypto, Tier 4 Portfolio clients ‘verticals’, and the FI SE leads for Asia and Europe/Americas. From a role perspective there will be a dynamic book of work, as risks and opportunities present, and strategic aims are established/changed. Initially this will focus on:
Supporting the establishment an improved management information and metrics offering for FI subsegments
Supporting the establishing low cost hub locations in East & West to drive the execution of low value, high volume FI SE & RRM activities.
Support the overseeing of and challenging the execution of the current projects in FI SE
Support the development of an Advisory capability for PSDO, Investors & SIG, centrally and into region/country;
Assist to assess and implement opportunities to join closer with existing CCIB product/segment/enablement teams to drive effectiveness and create efficiency for FI, avoiding duplication.
Support the overall management of the FI SE book of work, both in terms of individual initiative execution, and broader adoption of strategic initiatives around people, process and optimisation.

Strategy
Support cross-cutting assessment of strategic impact and enablement across the FI segments, breaking down siloes and opening up opportunities to be more effective and efficient.
Help drive lower cost models by executing against innovation, people, optimisation and right-shored location strategies.
Support on relevant SE objectives, initiatives and projects, where such opportunities cut across the verticals and geographies for FI.

Business

Help to support establishment of an Advisory offering for PSDO, Investors and SIG, mirroring the positive outcomes achieved in CorrBk and NPM/Fintech Advisory.
Help to clearly differentiate FI SE from CCIB Business Development and Client Coverage COO in its workplan and issue ownership; Demonstrate that FI SE is neither a duplicative cost, an additional layer of complexity.
Support on establishment of measures to demonstrate the success (or otherwise) of the FI SE team, and how the team contribute to an EVA+ outcome.

Processes
Support and help Create a culture of habitual innovation within the team, embracing the Bank’s new ways of working “nWOW”.
Help to drive operational efficiency and process improvement through identification and elimination of unnecessary procedures, and driving further automation where appropriate
Assist to set the tone for collaboration across the organisation including the FI RRM structure, Financial Markets, Transaction Banking (Corr Banking Learning Academy), Banks and Broker Dealer Risk, Global Banking Heads, Country CEOs, Service Delivery, etc.

People and Talent
Demonstrate leading through example and building an appropriate culture/values.
Set an appropriate tone and expectations for the team, focusing on a Performance Culture, and encouraging high levels of discretionary effort from the FI SE team across all levels/locations.
Support through ambiguity to establish the role/team in bringing together the specialist verticals and cross-geography teams in FI SE, in adoption of a collective book of work.
Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance the quality of deliverables. Support team members to ensure on time completion of deliverables.
Lead by example to ensure adherence to the Group’s processes and policies, training programs

Risk Management
Take the initiative regarding regulatory, reputational and ethical matters. Provide proactive advice to clients as identified.
Avoiding duplication with CC COO, assess any necessary measures to improve risk management framework appreciation (and potentially the frameworks themselves) in PDSO, Investors and SIG.
Work closely with stakeholders to conform to required global standards and improve risk and control metrics.
Governance
Responsible for challenging the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas; Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role;
Ensure actions carried out are in accordance to the guidelines of the Intragroup policies and standards.
Support the governance of the overall end to end ILA process.
To ensure valid justification and documentation of intragroup limit requests, and effective and timely monitoring, allocation and re-allocation of limits as required.

Our Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree required
Relevant Project Management, Change Management, Business Management, Strategy, Compliance, skills desirable
Experience in Banking, preferably Financial Institutions and Transaction Banking.
Experience of and working with various stakeholders
Experience and understanding of risk management frameworks.
Working knowledge of AML and Sanctions regulation.
