Job Description : BREWERY CELLERPERSON Job DescriptionGeneral Summary: Under the supervision and guidance of the Head Brewer and LUKI Brewery ownership, the Cellerperson is responsible for ensuring quality beer production. The Brewer Assistant is an integral part of the production team. We are looking for a member of our team that can help us develop long term success.Position will start at part time (20+ hours) with the potential of increasing to a full time, benefit eligible position within 90 days.Primary Duties & Responsibilities: BrewingBrew day preparation, including by not limited to unloading and organize grain shipments, prepare hop quantities, and measure out minerals.Brew Day assistance, CIP, and clean-upOngoing training in wort production and brewing procedures with the goal of brewing independently within 6-9 monthsRestock raw materials and product as neededOngoing Fermentation and AgingPerform daily gravity checks on all fermenting beerProcess beers in accordance with the brew scheduleHarvest yeast and follow proper yeast storage protocolsDrop cone and disposal of yeast and/or trub as required.Crash and dry hop beers as neededTank ManagementWork under the guidance of Head Brewer to clean and prepare tanks for production, transfer, and packaging in accordance to schedule.Transfer and carbonate beerPackagingKeg beer as directed by Head BrewerMaintain cooler for taproom service and storage, reorganizing and consolidating kegs as needed.Organize distribution shipments as required in accordance with weekly pick-up and delivery scheduleGeneral Maintenance and CleaningMonitor overall cleanliness of vessels, including brew deck, heat exchanger, and packaging machineryMonitor valves, hardware, and gaskets on all vessels, flag if damaged.Change valve gaskets, tighten screws, etc. as needed.Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance in accordance with the maintenance checklist.Administrative & Other DutiesAssist Brewer and Head Brewer with development and ongoing revisions of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and checklists.Follow all safety procedures.Other duties as assignedJob Requirements: Skill and KnowledgePassion for, and desire to continue to grow personal knowledge of craft beer and the brewing industryGeneral knowledge of practices, methods, tools, and equipment used in production and pub-style brewing.General knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions associated with work including working safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.Ability to interpret technical bulletins and schematics on equipment related to work.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Critical thinking and conflict resolution skillsEducation and Experience: High School diploma requiredMust be 21-years of agePreferred experience within the brewery or fermentation industry in any capacityHours and Physical Requirements: Involves frequent walking, lifting, and carrying objects weighing 50lbs routinely, occasional lifting of 100-150lbs.Must be able to work with fitted face respirator (provided) for periods not to exceed 30-minutes.Frequent use of latches, hand tools, clamps, hoses, etc., requiring manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination.Environment exposes employee to potentially minor injuries.Must have ability to work in hot or cold environment for extended periods.Regular contact with production employees and management, as well as periodic, but consistent, customer interaction.Job Type: Part-timePay: From $15.00 per hourBenefits:Flexible scheduleSchedule:Day shiftExperience:Beverage Production Occupations: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
