Job Description : Job DescriptionJob Title: Director of OperationsDepartment: AdministrationEmployment Classification: Regular, Full-Time, ExemptReports to: Cape Beverage General ManagerJob Summary: The Director of Operations is accountable for timely and effective strategic planning, development and tactical execution of all warehousing and delivery/transportation activities, coaching & development of operations staff, safety, security and maintenance of the warehouse and fleet.Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: Lead by example in upholding the Company’s Core Values and promoting a positive and constructive working environmentDirect and control the logistical and operational effectiveness of the warehouse, delivery and fleet operations. Assures systems & processes are in place to create timely and accurate delivery of all products to maintain a high level of efficiency and customer satisfaction.First hand execution of warehouse and distribution initiatives such as: budget management, procurement, labor relations, talent management, and productivity initiatives. Collaborative style.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and accountability throughout the distribution organizationResponsible for compliance to budget and cost performance for all inventory, building, and maintenance programs.Must ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained and timely reorders are placed and scheduled.Develop and execute warehouse/distribution center processing and operating strategies to support corporate objectives and achieve best-in-class operating metricsIdentify and lead optimization projects (e.g. warehouse-slotting, route planning, inventory)Develop best practice around warehousing and distribution (e.g. procurement, delivery, scheduling)Work collaboratively with internal team members and external vendors to reduce costs, create efficiencies and implement quality control through dedicated SOP’s.Develop, implement, and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the operationDevelop, promote, and monitor processes’ standards, SOP’s, and visual management toolsImprove, Develop, and track DC’s KPI’s through timely collection and analysis of relevant dataEstablish, lead and monitor implementation of annual strategic initiatives and objectives.Manage communication between internal and externalFirsthand knowledge of Warehouse Management System and future business usageSelf-driven problem solver able to work well under pressureResponsible for maximizing fleet utilization.Responsible for OSHA compliance and Audit procedures. Ensure that all procedures, practices and equipment are within guidelines set by OSHA and suppliers.Coordinate and develop special training programs as needed for next level supervisors and all personnel.Required Skills and Experience: BS Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field required6+ years’ experience in the beer/beverage, craft brewery, or related CPG industry wholesale distribution with progressive levels of responsibility and leadership experience Supply Chain,Logistics, and/or Distribution, managing staff and cross-functional teamsExperienced in implementing a WMS, and successfully leading the distribution team through the change processProven success in Project Management, Continuous Improvement/Lean and data analysisExperience with People Management required.
