Position : Employee Engagement Analyst

The Technology Office Analyst supports the Technology Office by developing and executing communications projects; supports employee engagement and provides executive support. Conducts needs analysis to create quality solutions. Ensures solutions align with stated requirements and comply with departmental standards. Serves as a resource to ensure effective communications.
WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:
1. Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
2. May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.
3. Guardian of Southwest Airlines Technology brand and reputation on all fronts.
4. Proactively creates communication plans supporting Technology events and activities.
5. Responsible for timely communication activity to inspire and educate Southwest Technology Employees about upcoming events, programs, and initiatives.
6. Determines the right communications solution for the opportunity at hand.
7. Analyzes impact of problems and facilitates resolution, and escalates to Leadership as needed.
8. Effectively communicates information and ideas using all forms of communication.
9. Researches and responds to questions/comments that relate to the Technology Department on our existing communication channels and forums.
10. Writes communication on behalf of the Technology Department.
11. Assists with writing/editing talking points for various channels including, but not limited to, Companywide events and external engagements or interviews
12. Creates and delivers presentations when needed.
13. Mentors the Technology Office Specialist
14. Partners, communicates, and builds relationships to gather Customer and business requirements and communicate effectively on behalf of Sr. Leadership.
15. Participates in meetings and committees as assigned.
16. Completes assigned and project tasks with minimal direction.
17. Partners with other Technology Teammembers to provide advice or solutions within his or her area of expertise.
18. Stays informed about current developments within his or her expertise.
19. Identifies problems, performs root cause analysis, investigates information, performs impact analysis, and formulates and executes plans to develop solutions.
20. Identifies strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
21. Acts as a coordination and facilitation point for organizing work efforts.
22. Sets up or follows established procedures to ensure high quality of work.
23. Understands dependency identification processes in technology work, verifies information and carefully reviews and checks the accuracy of own work.
24. Establishes or follows prioritization process to drive work, and has a sense of urgency about getting work completed.
25. Looks for and seizes opportunities to do more or to do things better.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to use a computer with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Ability to bend, stand, and sit for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to travel long hallways in large buildings and in between campus buildings
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/WORK STYLE:
Must have the ability to meet deadlines
Directly supports Technology Leadership with communications to approx. 4200 Team Members within Southwest Airlines.
Public speaking experience desired
Multiple page creative/business writing assessment will be required.
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally by telephone and face-to-face with internal and external Customers.
Must be comfortable with multiple communication channels.
Must meet confidentiality expectations pertaining to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information.
Must be highly motivated to develop and manage projects independently with little supervision.
Must have exceptional organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have judgment sufficient to handle and solve complex situations.
Must be technically proficient with Microsoft Office products– especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information.
Works effectively in a fast paced, collaborative, Team based environment.
Must work well with others as part of a Team.
Must be able to handle multiple situations simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
Must be able to attend evening and weekend functions, including travel and overnight stays.
