Position : Events Manager
Job Description : Salary Range: $50,000 – $65,000 yearPosition Description: The Events Manager is responsible for curating and maintaining the events portfolio for the organization, including but not limited to mega events (Super Bowl, FanFest), DPI signature events (Urban Wine Walk, Urban Ale Trail, Holidays In Downtown) and DPI-sponsored events (M3F, Phoenix Pizza Festival, etc.). The Events Manager grows the portfolio to be consistent with the organization’s mission and to embrace key characteristics Downtown Phoenix Inc. values (culturally diverse, enhancing neighborhood public spaces, inclusive, family friendly, wallet-friendly, etc.)The Events Manager oversees all event logistics from initial planning to execution. The Events Manager coordinates contributions from internal departments, external partners and is an expert in all aspects of event anatomy serving as conduit between event producers and City of Phoenix departments. The Events Manager is a key matchmaker with preferred vendors and venue partners.Job Duties: · Manage DPI signature events from planning to completion; manage external event producers and partners staging events downtown· Serve as direct contact with City of Phoenix, DPP stakeholders, community groups, non-profits and businesses throughout downtown regarding events· Connect marketing team to both DPI-produced events as well as externally produced events, from planning through execution· Identify events consistent with the organization’s mission and advocate to bring those to fruition· Streamline event planning process (e.g. venue selection, permitting, special event liquor licenses, vendor partnerships· Strategically develop processes to increase organization and metrics for events· Maintain organization’s Venue Menu as key stakeholder deliverable· Explore opportunities for attracting new events and festivals to downtown· Represent DPI and its affiliates in a wide variety of meetingsQualifications: · Minimum 4 year bachelor degree in event management, communications, marketing or other related field· At least 5 years of experience in event organization and/or community relations/outreach· Previous experience in wide variety of event management, including permitting, special event liquor licenses, site mapping and vendor/volunteer coordinationDesired Professional/Personal Characteristics: o Deep understanding of the Downtown Phoenix neighborhoodo Service-mindedo Adept at delegation, communication and matchmaking to achieve optimal resultso Ability to manage budgetso Strong relationship building skillso Willingness to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends when requiredJob Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWeekend availabilityEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Events management: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
