Job Description : Human Resources GeneralistPOSITION SPECIFICSReports To: Vice PresidentFLSA Status: Non-ExemptROLESUMMARY This position is responsible for human resources responsibilities and activities of the organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.ComplianceIdentifies legal requirements and reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.Provides advice and counsel to management and other employee groups related to compliance with and the communication, interpretation, and implementation of relevant employment laws and regulations.Assists in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook and contributes to the development of policies and procedures.Reviews, creates, and adapts current and new job descriptions as needed.Employee Relations & SupportResponds to internal and external inquiries regarding complaints, company policies, procedures, and programs.Addresses employee workplace concerns, oversees all escalated employee issues, and conducts investigations.Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.Assists in the analysis of morale indicators such as surveys, turnover and retention statistics, and grievances and presents recommendations when needed.Participates in change management efforts and employee communication initiatives.Provide third party presence as requested for employee conversations.Assists with training, safety, wellness and health.Completes employment verifications.Hiring/Onboarding/OffboardingWorks collaboratively with the Full Cycle Recruiter to develop and maintain recruitment strategies.Assists with recruiting activities, pre-employment requirements and orientations.Handles all administrative tasks associated with new and separated employees.Training/ConsultationCoordinates supervisor and manager training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, and performance review.Coordinates employee training in safety, fire extinguisher training, workplace harassment prevention and others in adherence to company standard training intervals.Benefits AdministrationAdministers company benefits programs and oversees annual plan renewals and enrollment.Manages leaves of absence including FMLA, state paid leaves, personal, and disability leaves.Assists with worker’s compensation and return to work administration.Data TrackingTracks and monitors personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, separations, and employee statistics.Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.Maintains employee files and records in electronic and paper form, and performs appropriate audits to ensure compliance.Maintains records for safety programs (i.e. training logs, incident reports, inspections).Creates and maintain electronic OSHA 300 and 300A.Payroll/AccountingProvides backup support for Accounting Manager with bi-weekly payroll processing and with daily timecard and revenue report export into QuickBooks.MiscellaneousAssists with team recognition program & planning morale events.Maintains internal databases and employee documents.Orders office and breakroom supplies and food delivery for meetings.Coordinates and manages calendars, meetings and travel arrangements.Perform miscellaneous research and special projects as assigned.GeneralDevelops, documents and implements Departmental Policies and Procedures.Works cooperatively and collaboratively with leadership team members to ensure optimal inter-departmental relationships and performance.Takes initiative in seeking out opportunities for personal professional development and training.Proactively communicates any problems or issues that impair the company’s ability to serve its employees well.Acts as a steward of the AAWG mission statement to facilitate a positive employee experience.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
