Job Description : The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is looking for a Full Time Natural Resource person who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Responsibilities
The Marine Naturalist will provide outstanding customer service by providing a friendly welcoming and learning environment, which includes acknowledging and greeting guests and visitors to the King’s Pond and along the shoreline. The Naturalist will consistently interact with guests and initiate “teachable moments” at every opportunity and through a variety of means and venues.
Promote all our marine programs and our Resort conservation and stewardship activities at guest and member functions and community events.
Conduct programs off-shore in a professional capacity as a marine naturalist guide on boating excursions when needed.
Conduct snorkel lessons and guided snorkel tours. Conduct scheduled talks and audio-visual presentations about marine life and the marine environment, including but not limited to Turtles, Whales, Dolphins, Fish, Corals, anchialine pools, marine conservation, and other ocean life and marine related issues.
Assist in developing and implementing guest and resident interactive programs, and community tours, utilizing all natural resource assets of the Resort and ahupua’a of Ka’upulehu.
Provide support for processing tickets and receipts from revenue programs.
Assist in maintaining all water features as needed.
Provide technical support including all existing and future marine surveys and monitoring.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
College degree in marine science, marine ecology marine biology, or closely related field.
Experience in developing and implementing education programs. In addition, the individual must be able to demonstrate the ability to interact and communicate very well with Resort guests, residents, and school and community groups.
Enthusiastic, positive and highly outgoing, with a great desire to learn, improve, and achieve.
A good understanding of basic water quality, Hawaiian fish identification and ecological concepts.
Ability to work occasionally in an office setting with skills in word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
Good organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, and plan proactively.
High work ethic, with a keen sense of responsibility for the role filled within a team dynamic.
A valid drivers license.
Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
