Job Description : CNA/Nursing AssistantPlease note, to keep our Sisters and staff safe, all applicants must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and must provide proof of vaccination at the time of hire.The Sisters of St. Joseph are looking for compassionate and dependable individuals to help care for retired Sisters in their home.Certified nursing assistants as well as non-certified nursing assistants with relevant experience will be considered for the overnight shift (10:30 p.m. – 7 a.m.).Duties of the CNA/Nursing Assistant include: Assist with household tasks, e.g., making bed, changing linens, laundryEncourage independence for each Sister within her individual capacityTransport Sisters to various areas of the Motherhouse and offer assistance as neededCoordinate with patient care teamOrient Sisters to time, person and place as needed and update orientation boards in each living area dailyAssist nurses and nurse aides in providing treatments as ordered, e.g., hot packsWork every shift conscious of a team approach and the continuity of care for the SistersQualifications Required of the CNA/Nursing AssistantHigh school diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years of age6-12 months experience in a personal care or nursing home working with eldersSelf-motivated and compassionate caregiverGood verbal and written communication skillsMust be reliable and dependableMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds, perform one person transfer under routine and emergency situations, re-position a patient alone, and be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, pull climb, reach, lift and perform repetitive movements of the upper extremitiesMust have flexibility to work different shiftsCandidates must pass criminal clearances and drug screen.Qualifications Preferred of the CNA/Nursing Assistant: Trained in first aid/CPR proceduresCurrent certification as CNABenefits of the CNA/Nursing Assistant: *Low resident to staff ratio, with an average of 10 residents per aide*Generous shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shiftsMedical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off – up to 15 days off earned in year oneCompany-paid Life insurance policyEmployee Referral programRetirement plan with a matchJob Type: Full-timePay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hourBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offReferral programRetirement planVision insuranceMedical Specialty:GeriatricsSchedule:8 hour shiftSupplemental Pay:Differential payOvertime payApplication Question(s):Are you fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any eligible boosters, or willing to be vaccinated as a condition of employment?Experience:personal care or nursing aide: 1 year (Preferred)Shift availability:Overnight Shift (Required)Work Location: One location
