Job Description : The UFCW Local 1262 and Employers Pension Fund is seeking a Pension Service Associate for a full-time permanent positionThe primary responsibilities of the Pension Service Associate are: to ensure the timely and accurate payment of retiree pension benefits, as well as providing for appropriate health benefits coverage and premiums. This position also contributes to the efficient administration of the Funds’ pension plans; this entails communicating with and responding (via telephone or in writing) to active plan participant and retiree inquiries, e.g., concerning credited service, performing the requisite pension-related research, completing timely and accurate pension calculations, etc.. Other duties include answering member phone calls and other administrative duties as needed.What you will do: Interact and discuss (via telephone or in-person) plan participants considering retirement.Coordinate all correspondence related to and process monthly pension benefit payroll for new retirees, changes to existing retirees, and removal of deceased retireesMonitor beneficiaries of retirees with options requiring termination of their benefitsEnroll eligible retirees in the applicable health benefit sub-groupPrepare, mail, process and record (using the Gibbs System) monthly retiree billings / payments for health benefits. Coordinate same with the Fund’s Accounting Department.Type introductory letters to new retirees.Communicate telephonically or in-person with active and inactive plan participants regarding general inquiries, application completions and benefits explanations, and with retirees concerning address changes, death notices, direct deposit or stop payments of monthly checks, and health benefits questions.Respond to participant-requested statements of credited service· Assist in the tracking of exisiting retirees or deferred vested participants to monitor any deathsDetermine whether benefit payments should continue to a spouse or beneficiary of a deceased retiree. Follow up with a letter to spouse or beneficiary.Initiate stop payment requests for missing pension checks or in the case of a benefit recipient’s death. Request and mail replacement check(s), if applicable.Coordinate mailing of requested pension applications and/or Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs).Education Requirements: Associates Degree – Bachelors preferredRelevant Experience: · 2-3 years of pension or other retirement-related administration preferredBenefits Package Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsurancePension (after becoming fully vested)Supplemental PayBonusJob Type: Full-timePay: $22.00 – $24.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payCOVID-19 considerations:Employees must be vaccinated.
