Job Description : SummaryThis position reports to the General Manager and EHS Manager. In this role, the incumbent will be accountable for developing and managing all aspects of the EHS management system. The role of the Safety Coordinator will ensure that our company has the best systems and processes in place to manage safety, security, environmental concerns and health of employees.JOB DUTIES: · Develop behavior based EHS system.· Training, oversight, investigation and reporting to promote safety and ensure compliance with regulations, standards and procedures· Assess safety risks, root causes and develop programs and training to mitigate or eliminate risk factors· Review accident reports, investigate incidents, determine corrective action· Publish daily and monthly metrics and communicate to all levels of the organization· Ensure accurate records that meet business and OSHA requirements· Conduct safety audits· Manage environmental issues including regulatory compliance, Haz Mat training, hazardous waste disposal, air permitting, and documentation· Monitor effectiveness of safety training programs· Develop and implement safety procedures throughout facility· Comply with all quality and safety rules and regulations· Manage MSDS requests and updates· Establish a positive safety culture by promoting floor visibility and developing strong relationships with all employees.· Handle all facility and customer related environmental requirements· Identify safety initiatives that will elevate employee engagement to achieve zero accidents and zero loss across facility· Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements with company’s policies, standards and principles, including continuous improvement· Provide strategic support to Occupational Health, Wellness and Industrial Hygiene to Senior Leadership· Advise on process modifications to ensure consideration of potential hazards during operating processesCore Competencies· Results Driven – Maximizes effort to remove obstacles to achieve business results and establishes aggressive goals for yourself in your job function. Seeks opportunities to apply new skills to the job and accepts feedback on performance readily and in a positive manner.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety or the equivalent.· Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental in a manufacturing facility· Detailed knowledge of and familiarity with Health, Safety, OSHA and EPA Standards· Must possess a strong analytical ability. Individual should have a participative management philosophy; one who advocates a team concept.· Individual should possess sound people-oriented management skills with a proven ability to motivate and lead individuals.· Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.· Must be results-oriented and strive to achieve high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.· Able to operate at all levels as needed.
