Position : Social Media Production Associate
Job Description : The Social Media Production Associate is responsible for producing visual and creative content for enterprise social media platforms while remaining fluent in social media tactics, industry trends, video, and multimedia production. This individual is an innovative social media creative who can create audience-centric, engaging multimedia content to drive brand engagement, growth, and institutional goals through social channels. This position partners with multimedia producers, designers, and writers to develop creative assets that can be leveraged across the campus community and provides coverage for events on campus as necessary. A member of the Office of Marketing and Communications and reporting to the Associate Director of Social Media, this role assists with the day-to-day planning, copywriting, community engagement, and publishing for more than 1.9MM social followers. Some responsibilities, such as account monitoring, analytics reporting, and user-generated content management will be shared with the Social Media Production Associate.
The Social Media Production Associate is expected to demonstrate a passion for social media, a desire to stay on top of current industry trends, and a creative, self-starter mindset. They will handle multiple projects and need to flex based on the organization’s priorities, including some evening and weekend duties
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, video production, journalism, or a related field; Minimum two (2) years of professional experience creating content (video, photography, and graphics) for a wide variety of audiences and digital platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn; Knowledge of TikTok and Instagram trends, 2+ years of professional social media or multimedia marketing experience; Proven ability to produce for creative, visual storytelling; Strong understanding of content marketing and reputation management; Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with audience-centricity, integrated marketing planning; Understanding of paid/owned/earned paradigm in social media; Understanding of user-generated content management, content marketing, and reputation management; Understanding of social media metrics and performance; Exposure to marketing channels beyond social; Experience with integrated marketing planning; Experience using Sprout Social.
The Target Hiring Range for this position is $49,800 – $66,400.

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Candidates may request a medical or religious exemption from the vaccination requirement. Campus employees may also request an exemption for personal reasons. Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, College of Medicine or OSUP Employees are not eligible for personal exemptions. All exemptions are subject to Ohio State’s approval and subject to change, including revocation, due to legal and regulatory requirements.
