Job Description : Silver Bay Seafoods is an integrated processor of frozen, salmon, herring, and squid products for domestic and export markets. Silver Bay Seafoods is one of North Americas leading seafood processors with operating locations across Alaska and California. In this role as the King Cover Store Clerk, you will provide premier customer service to our Fishermen and customers, including greeting them and responding to any questions they may have regarding our products and inventory. You will be responsible for dynamically selling products by providing customers with information needed to make product related decisions. Taking physical inventories and keeping inventory records is critical to ensure we are well stocked with needed supplies our fishermen can request at a moments notice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the position include the following:
Provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to assist customers in locating, selecting, and purchasing.
Organize customer in-store pickup or deliveries.
Physical arrangement of merchandize on shelves and displays.
Assemble and Disassemble shelves to organize supplies.
Maintain orderly filing system: file credit cards, documents, other records.
Intermediate Bookkeeping: check cash register receipts, prepare daily/weekly financial reports.
Communicate with customers, management, and coworkers to problem-solve any issues.
Aid management in keeping store organized, promoting quick and efficient sales, and maintaining a controlled inventory.
May perform other work duties as required.
Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following functional and interpersonal competencies:
Functional
Confident in mathematical skills to operate the cash register: debit & cash payment methods.
Knowledge of inventory control and experience in supply chain system.
Demonstrating a passion for the type of products being purchased and a willingness to continuously stay up to date on trends in the seafood industry.
Attention to detail to ensure specifications are being met and quality of purchases is up to standard.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information.
Maintain professional relationships while exhibiting good interpersonal skills to get along with co-workers, fishermen and customers.
Capable of working in a remote area of Alaska.

Demonstrates ownership, accuracy, and attention to detail for all assigned responsibilities.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years’ experience in seafood or related industry.
Bookkeeping training or experience required.
Able to navigate variety of computer programs and software to help with inventory & bookkeeping.
Proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel & Word) programs and the ability to build reports and calculate figures.
Physical Demands
While performing the essential function and job duties associated with the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Presentation and sharing of information should be handled in a direct, appropriate, and helpful manner. Maintains a reputation for honesty, confidentiality, reliability, and fairness.
