Position : Student Summer Assistant – Greene County
Job Description : This position is located in Greene County. The OSU Extension Summer Student Assistant will work administratively under the Area Leader and programatically with the County Educators. He/she will be expected to work cooperatively with local volunteers, Extension Staff members, and youth in the organization and management of the OSU Extension Program. This includes coordinating, facilitating, and managing various tasks and events. This includes tasks related to Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences and 4-H Youth Development. The successful candidate should possess leadership skills; organizational skills; excellent communication skills, both written and oral. In addition they should be self-motivated and self-directed; able to work with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds; and be proficient in Microsoft programs.
40% Assist with 4-H Educator with camp, judging day, skillathons, Fair Entry, setting up for fair and fair week.
30% Assist with ANR Educator before, during, and after fair with creating agriculture related educational displays. Assist with summer programs.
20% Assist with FCS Educator before, during, and after fair with creating educational displays. Assist with FCS related activities during fair.
10% Perform basic office tasks to support other staff. Tasks include answering phones, communicating with clientele, creating flyers or other documents, making copies, maintaining files and organizing supplies. Various other tasks as needed
