Job Description : The Arc of Essex County is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.Camp Hope is a seven-week summer day camp program, in East Hanover, for campers with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Operating since 1956, camp runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, starting in early July and ending in August. Camp Hope has been providing traditional camp activities including supervised swimming and outdoor fun with modified sports, arts & crafts and music. While enjoying these activities, attention is also given to daily living skills, peer interaction, socialization skills and developing appropriate behaviors.For more information about the camp, please visit us at https://arccamphope.com/Job Summary:We are currently hiring Camp Behavioral Counselors to join our team for the summer of 2022.Camp Duration: Jul 5, 2022– Aug 19, 2022There will be mandatory training in the weeks prior to the start of the camp. The training dates are TBD.All staff will be trained in CPR/1st Aid as well as other mandated trainings.Requirements:Must be 18 years or olderEducation / Work Experience / Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (or related field) and 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities OR High School Diploma and 3 years’ experience with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities.Job Type: Full-timeSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: One location
