Joining our team means you’ll work in a high performing global organization where employees collaborate and strive to make XP Power the first-choice power solutions provider delivering the ultimate experience for our customers and our people.Job Title: Test TechnicianReports to: Test & Quality ManagerLocation: XP Power, High Bridge, NJEmployment Type: Full time, non-exemptPosition Summary: Responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, calibration and repair of many different models of high voltage DC power supplies. These are sophisticated, high-end power converters with embedded microcontrollers. Typical workflow is 1 to 6 units per day, depending on the model.Work hours are 7:30am to 4:15pm; 45min. lunchKey Responsibilities: Power up, testing and calibration of switching power supplies for the first time, following detailed test procedures.Read schematic diagrams to do some level of troubleshooting, with assistance available as needed.Repair manufacturing mistakes as needed.Perform other duties and responsibilities when required.Key Qualifications and Skills: Some formal electronics education requiredResistor color code, component identificationGood soldering skills, ability to do SMT reworkAbility to lift 50 pounds to move units to/from cart or tableAbility to read and understand schematics and bills of materialFamiliarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters and other test equipmentGood communication skillsStrong work ethic, good judgement and attention to detailWill certify in IPC-610 and 620 workmanship standardsBenefits: XP Power provides a safe and healthy working environment that is stimulating and collaborative, where employees are empowered to make a real difference.
