Position : Uniform Relocation Specialist – Disaster Recovery

Job Description : In this role, you will support the implementation of a local county’s buyout programs involving the temporary or permanent displacement of homeowners, tenants, and business owners from storm-damaged dwellings.Key Responsibilities: Provide assistance to individuals affected as required under the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Properties Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 (URA).Master policies and procedures governing relocation in federally-funded recovery programs.Engage in intake, eligibility determination, relocation advisory services, and technical assistance, and file closing for housing recovery cases involving homeowners, tenants, and business owners.Gather, scan, and store required program eligibility and other required information in electronic databases and case management systems, and ensure required URA notices are provided to the applicants and documented in program files.Assist with moving arrangements, analyze inventory, and identify and resolve personal property issues as well as coordinate and review move estimates.Provide advisory services, identify and inspect comparable housing units, negotiate and oversee lease payments to landlords, and calculate assistance payments required by URA.Prepare letters to applicants and landlords, as well as other required program documents.Communicate with applicants by phone, email and in-person to communicate program requirements and case statusEnsure all hard copy and automated files are updated and maintained in strict accordance with established policies and proceduresInteract with case managers to coordinate URA benefits in conjunction with other program assistance.Provide tracking and reporting information on URA program activity.Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; relevant experience may substituteFamiliarity with all URA requirements.2+ years of related URA work experienceExcel and database proficiencyAccounting or financial proficiencyExcellent understanding of and ability to interpret residential lease terms, rental history, housing inspections and other program-related documentsExceptional ability to articulate details in a manner understandable to a variety of individuals in person and over the phoneSkilled in multi-tasking, organizing and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment·Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, guidelines issued by HUD and other related agencies related to disaster recovery, housing and building at a level sufficient to manage the area-wide implementation of disaster recovery policies, programs, and procedures.Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience in URA program administration, facilitating client application to public benefit programsExperience in disaster recovery and/or housing support services or programs’Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $37.00 – $42.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insuranceSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayApplication Question(s):Have you worked directly with long-term relocation under URA (Uniform Relocation Assistance Act)?Experience:Disaster recovery: 1 year (Required)Work Location: One location
