Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a University Enrollment Services Technician for Financial Aid. This position will have an integral role on the University Enrollment Services processing team.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Will have the largest processing caseload and will perform more technically demanding financial aid, registrar, and admissions duties in processing including but not limited to applicant processing, student needs analysis, federal verification, packaging of student aid, perform records and transcripts evaluation and complex technical duties involved in analysis and evaluation of student records and transcripts for prerequisites, admissions, and transfers.
Facilitate problem solving with any barrier that impede a student’s ability to access and afford a Rutgers University college education.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement
Rutgers University requires all new employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the employee a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of a vaccine approved or authorized for emergency use in the United States or a vaccine that has been listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization. Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine. Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a high school/vocational school education or equivalent plus four years or any equivalent combination of: clerical or secretarial experience, advanced secretarial or business training, or college level study.
Experience must include two years financial aid and/or registration experience.
Two years of student services, student accounting or similar experience may be substituted.
Requires the ability to group lead.
Requires the ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats and working knowledge and the ability to use basic spreadsheet, word-processing, database software, and/or email.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Must have effective client service skills.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent communication skills, and computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, work organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping, and/or report writing principles and practices.
Two or more years of experience in student financial aid or registrar or admissions processing, with knowledge of Financial Aid Management System (FAMS), Student Records Database(SRDB) or New Jersey Applicant Services(NJAS), NSLDS, Fedral and State systems and ImageNow.
