Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP Amazon Technology Leader is responsible, for providing senior technology vision, leadership, and strategy to drive IT programs for the Amazon portfolio of products to meet client growth, innovation, productivity expectations and ongoing development.
The ideal candidate for this position has experiencing managing challenging engagements with high expectations and ability to adapt to a client’s unique style. Candidate is a servant leader that has a history of creating a safe space and inclusive environment fostering diverse views and approaches from the team, coaching, and mentoring them to thrive in a dynamic workplace. The incumbent will have a true passion around influencing client leaders to determine and drive delivery of technology priorities across our clients. This leader will partner with Synchrony product and x-functional client teams to drive and enable payments innovation with Amazon.
This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:
Provides senior technology vision, leadership, and strategy to drive Technology programs related to the overall Amazon portfolio; partners with client team to identify new opportunities to drive growth and integration; ensures optimization of cross functional client initiatives and is active leader in issue resolution and risk mitigation associated with the portfolio.
Excels at navigating the SYF enterprise to ensure we have the right support for the client. This includes vast working contacts across Security, CTO/infrastructure, Tech Risk Management & 2LOD as appropriate, digital programs and innovation teams, and application engineering.
Proactively identifies new opportunities to drive process improvements and simplification in support of delivery and productivity for our clients, ongoing analysis of project priorities and planning
Responsible for wing-to-wing delivery of client aligned initiatives, including resource assignment, issue resolution and budget management
Responsible for people management activities including coaching and performance management, compensation planning, organization, and staffing
Develops peer, cross functional and cross client relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness. Partner with multiple business and technology teams to ensure we have focus and process consistency across all customers and platforms.
Leverages experience of using APIs to enable speed-to-market client efficiencies and can set client expectations to balance service speed, reliability, and resiliency with customizations
Relentless pursuit of world class run metrics to meet the ever-increasing client contract and customer experience expectations
Develops and guides the innovation and new technology investment strategies.
Set the right tone and posture around all financial, regulatory, compliance, and process governance
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of Technology experience or in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma/GED and 15+ years of experience, Financial Services, client facing, technology preferred
Minimum of 7+ years of leadership experience driving large programs across large financial services or technology business.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience developing and executing strategic plans, influencing skills, managing complex programs, and leading collaborative relationships in a cross- functional team environment.
Deep technical understanding of architecture, technology, and credit card processes.
Working knowledge of the continuous improvement process.

Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 115,000.00 – 230,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
