Job Description : RGS Products, Inc. is an architectural railing and metals manufacturing company providing customers with custom design balcony and stairway railings. We are in search of an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our growing teamJob Summary: The Accounting Assistant is responsible for accounts receivable processing, customer collections and resolving payment discrepancies. This position’s main focus is on communicating with customers, maintaining accounts receivable records, processing receivables and managing customer past due balances.Duties/Responsibilities: Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data.Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits.Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issuesFacilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clientsAccounts PayableGenerate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable statusManage open work orders and purchase orders ensuring execution and completion while collecting all required documentation.Submit lien releases to proper subcontractors and ensures subcontract compliance.Issues/collects and maintains insurance certificates.Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent sales and customer service skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.At least one year of related accounting experience requiredAt least one year of experience with subcontract administration in the construction industry preferred (but not required)Payroll experience a plus but not requiredQuickBooks experience a plus but not requiredPhysical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Job Type: Full-timePay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayExperience:Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
