Notably, the faith community’s motto is taken from the biblical letter of St. James : ”…be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…” We are a community of action–oriented doers serving our neighbors both locally and beyond Richmond.Specific responsibilities include: Manage/provide the administrative support of the Education, Program and Operations staffServe as Office Manager: Reception; technology vendors; office, housekeeping and kitchen inventories and supplies; hours and attendanceCoordinate the communications of events and calendars (Internal network and website calendars), ensuring that room reservations and set ups are as requiredEnsure that the MH kitchen and storeroom are stocked and inventoried regularlyEnsure that kitchen and ABC licensing requirements are currentHere’s what you’ll need to succeed in the role: Demonstrated proficiency in ACS or similar cloud-based Church Management/CRM/Database SoftwareDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, mail merge, and ExcelDemonstrated success in organizing and prioritizing workDemonstrated success in meeting deadlinesDemonstrated success in multi-taskingDemonstrated success in working as part of a team and working independentlyDemonstrated proficiency in basic AV equipment set up for microphones, digital projector, laptopDemonstrated success in communicating with clarity to diverse audiences, including staff, leadership, and publicWorking knowledge of office equipment: printers, copiers, scanners, computersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHolds or is eligible for accreditation as a Certified Kitchen ManagerAnd you’ll have to be: Forward lookingFlexibleHighly organizedOpenResults orientedEnergeticDetail Oriented HumbleCollaborativeProactivePresumes Goodwill on the part of othersCurious Discrete with Confidential informationA LearnerThe Administrative Manager contributes to the mission of Transforming Lives by managing the support of the Education, Program, and Operations staff in their roles of Christian Education, Programs and the business operations of the church and by ensuring that fellowship, hospitality, and special service events are organized and executed smoothly. This key position addresses the Community and Discipleship pillars of St. James’s ministries structure and impacts the entire membership of the church. As the Administrative Manager manages the office and administrative support staff, the Education and Program staff are freed to focus on the spiritual growth of the congregation, leading to Transformed Lives.We work as a team at St. James’s and this role reports to the Director of Church Operations and interacts with the Clergy, Education/Formation staff, Music staff, Operations Staff, volunteers, ministry leaders, vestry and other parishioners, Vendors, Housekeeping contractors, service contractors, and regulatory authorities (ABC, City).
