Job Description : Overview:

An Advisor for the Restaurant Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance team will function as an SME in the area of Food Code and will have the responsibility of ensuring all restaurant policies and procedures comply with all levels of food regulations (Federal, State, and local). They will have the responsibility of reviewing and consulting to restaurant and equipment design to ensure they also meet code and corporate standards. The Advisor will work independently and with cross functional teams to assess new food products and process initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Have a detailed knowledge and understanding of the FDA Food Code and how it is applied at the state and local level.
Chain-wide Restaurant food safety risk assessment and mitigation.
Collaborate with internal departments to update existing procedures, create new procedures, review restaurant and equipment design to ensure they comply with Food Code.
Communicate through new written policies, procedures and knowledge articles to Restaurant Operators and Team Members.
Support Operators as needed to resolve issues with local health departments.
Manage multiple key relationships across industry, academia, government, the support Center, and Owner/Operators to ensure compliance with Food Code.
Serve as a liaison between Business Incubation, Beyond the Restaurant (Delivery, Food Trucks, Catering), and other departments throughout the business with Restaurant Food Safety to ensure alignment and risk reduction.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the Regulatory field (FDA, USDA, local Health Department, Food Safety auditing
Strong presentation and communication skills
Ability to work in a technical area (be detail orientated) as well as with restaurants (Operators) and Support Center
Capability to work independently and with a team to complete goals
Demonstration of leadership skills and ability to influence change
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a science such as: Food Science, Biochemistry, Engineering, Environmental Health Science, Chemistry, Biology or extensive restaurant experience in a food safety role
Advanced degree – Food Science, Public Health, Business (MBA)
Regulatory compliance (Design Review)
Extensive restaurant experience
Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Travel Requirements: 20% Required Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree Major/Concentration: Food Science, Biochemistry, Engineering, Environmental Health Science, Chemistry, Biology
