Job Description : The Buyer will provide purchasing support to the Supply Chain department. Responsibilities will include maintaining inventory, tracking shipments, and material purchases for the organization. The Buyer will also research and pursue vendor relationships offering quality products and services and will seek out the most competitive rates. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are essential.Position Responsibilities: Collaborate with product development team to understand business functions in assessing and effectively fulfilling material and service needs as it relates to projects, facilities and other program needsResearch and analyze domestic and international suppliersMaintain purchase order system to ensure accurate and efficient use of Great Plains system, inclusive of generating and tracking purchase orders, under the direction of the Director of ProcurementSecure quotes; recommend vendors with respect to cost, quality and deliveryReview purchase orders and contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditionsReceive and enter products into Great Plains system; maintains inventory in system, reviewing open purchase orders and inventory reportsWork closely with the Accounting team to initiate check requests, resolve invoice discrepancies, vendor payment and ensure proper purchase order codingOther office/clerical duties as neededKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent negotiating and problem-solving skillsAbility to respond to and meet changing deadlinesAbility to multi-task and respond to all requests in a timely mannerUnderstanding of international logisticsAttention to detail and highly organizedAbility to prioritizeCredentials and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years’ experience in a purchasing environmentProficiency with ERP software; experience utilizing Great Plains is preferredBenefits of working for the National Inventors Hall of Fame include: Competitive benefit offerings, including; medical, dental, vision, life, flexible spending, disability401K plan and up to a 4% employer matchPaid time off, paid holidays, paid year-end closure (12/24-1/1)Critical Illness/Hospital/Accident Supplemental Income plans availablePet Insurance plans availableOn-site workout facilityFlexible workday scheduling, work from home time up to one day per weekGreat team environment, opportunities for growth, and culture focused on professional developmentJob Type: Full-time
