Job Description : COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALISTThe communications specialist is responsible for supporting internal and external communications efforts and tactics aligned with Duck Donuts’ strategic initiatives and objectives. This position manages PR to support new shop openings, social media influencer collaborations and maintains and writes for internal communication platforms. This position will report to the director of communications.Responsibilities: Responsible for promoting a positive public image of the companyBuild media lists and long-term relationships with local media and key stakeholdersManage social media influencer collaborationsDraft and issue press releases relating to new store openings, seasonal promotions and other franchisee-related newsManage scheduling and hosting of media interviews and prepare talking points for spokespeopleAct as on-site PR representative at new store openings as neededMonitor media coverage and escalates awareness of issuesManage Quack Gives Back partners and initiativesProduce weekly, quarterly and yearly reports of media coverageWrite, edit and produce communications for internal audiences including but not limited to presentations, intranet articles, newsroom on website, and weekly newslettersAssist in planning regional meetings and company-wide conferencesRequired Skills, Education and Experience: 1-3 years of PR/communications experienceBachelor’s degree in public relations, communication/journalism or marketing preferredExcellent and well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with ability to think conceptually, strategically and creativelyAbility to explain complex issues, write well on deadline and multi-task are musts.
