Job Description : Department: Development Reports to: Chief Development OfficerBackground Classical KING FM 98.1 is the public classical station serving Seattle and the Puget Sound Region. Seattle is undergoing tremendous growth thanks to its long history as a hub of innovation. Amazon, Microsoft, Costco and Starbucks (among others) are headquartered here and Facebook, Google, Salesforce and Apple have a major presence in the area. Classical KING FM will leverage the tremendous resources in the region to chart a new course for the station and classical radio. KING FM has a new strategic framework that calls for diversification of the audience, staff, and board. Our goal is for the demographics of the station to mirror the demographics of the community.Position Description: KING FM is looking for aDevelopment Officer to join our team. Candidates will have at least three years of administrative experience and a strong interest in supporting non-profit organizations through fundraising. This position is ideal for someone who wants an opportunity to learn all aspects of our development efforts while taking increasing responsibility for their own portfolio of donor engagement work. We are looking for someone who is communicative, collaborative, and interested in learning more about classical music and development. We offer an opportunity to advance in the field and the benefit of working with a strong, dedicated team.Responsibilities:Mid-Level Donor Strategy: 40 PercentWork with Chief Development Officer and Business Analyst to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward mid-level donors and donor prospects ($500 to $1,500 gifts).Manage special donor engagement and stewardship opportunities designed for mid-level donors.Create, enhance, and maintain systems to organize and communicate with large numbers of donors.Gift Acknowledgement and Donor Communications: 20 PercentManage gift acknowledgement process, from drafting and customizing letters to recording acknowledgements.Create customized donor stewardship materials and manage distribution of materials.Foundation Requests and Reporting: 10 PercentMaintain a grants calendar with application and reporting deadlines.Support grant applications and reports.Donor Liaison: 10 PercentProvide back-up coverage of donor phonelineMonitor donor email inbox and manage responses.Donor Cultivation and Stewardship Event Support: 10 PercentManage invitation and RSVP processes and donor communication.Create event briefs and timelines.Manage event logistics.Pledge Drives: 10 PercentSupport pledge drive team during drive planning and execution.Manage personalized donor outreach and assist with thank-you gifts.Minimum Qualifications: · Three years of administrative experience, including data entry, correspondence, calendaring, event planning, and customer service.· Copywriting and editing skills.· Excellent verbal (phone) and written communication (email and mail) skills.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook· An interest in learning more about public radio and classical music.· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.Preferred Qualifications: · Pervious work in fundraising· Project management expertise· Experience working with CRMsOther details We offer compensation and benefits including, medical, vision and dental coverage, Life and LTD, paid vacation, personal and sick time, and 401K.Position open until fulfilledClassical KING FM is working actively to diversify its programming, its staff, and its board.
