Position : Director – Educational Programs

Job Description : Plan, develop and track youth programs and activities in accordance with Boys & Girls Clubs standards, policies and procedures. Travel to rural Alaska and work with staff to provide high quality programs that fulfill grant outcomes and are highly patronized by members. Provide professional development experiences for staff, and engage in the continuous quality improvement process. Use data to gain insight into the organization’s work and make recommendations for growth.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Program Planning & DeliveryProvide support for planning, instruction and implementation of programs and activities associated with the successful completion of grant requirements.Develop curriculum that meets skills, interest and needs of youth.Monitor the integrity of all grant funded reporting.Provide customer service to adults and other user groups in the community.Staff Scheduling, Training & SupervisionTrain and evaluate staff for effective grant management record keeping and program planning.Create an environment that ensures effective staff performance and two-way communication.Assist in the training of and adherence to all policies and procedures for all staff.Establish and maintain relationships with all BGC departments and partner organizations.Plan, coordinate and execute recognition activities for goal achievements.React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.Reporting & RecordkeepingGather information as required using methods consistent with organizational values, policies and legal requirements.Responsible for quantitative statistical analysis and data visualization.Maintain statistical information and backup documentation on all program matters, distribute/report information as requested by other Club parties.Assist with preparation of narrative annual report and statistical annual report.Provide monthly written reports as requested by supervisors.Maintain financial and membership data in a secure and confidential manner.Ensure security of company funds, purchase orders, corporate credit cards, and charge accounts with local vendors.Responsible for membership database administration, maintenance and training of staff on proper use.G-Suite AdministrationRequirementsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.)Strong organizational and planning skills.Effective oral communication, including the ability to respectfully communicate with people from different backgrounds and disciplines.Experience working with Alaska Native peoples from both rural and urban communities.Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Administration, Business Administration or similar (experience in leu of education will be considered).Ability to maintain good relations with peers and public.Ability to work evenings, weekends and travel, when needed.Pass background clearanceValid Alaska driver’s license with reliable, insured vehiclePhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, sit, talk, see and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud. On occasion it will be necessary for the employee to take trips to the various village locations. It may also be necessary for the employee to use his/her personal automobile to attend meetings outside of the office.
