Our district strives to collaborate with our teachers, students, parents and community to ensure we deliver quality learning for all students.We devote our energy and resources to ensuring our students graduate from Enumclaw with the academic and social-emotional skills necessary to allow them to be successful in the innovation era.JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibility is to work as part of the District leadership team focused on the mission and goals of the District and to lead and implement special education programs and services consistent with federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and district policies and procedures, compliance with The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), student records, discipline, and services for students with disabilities.Assures ongoing communication between the District and community advocacy agencies. Serves as the administrator of school specific programs and services that allow students requiring special education services to access general education curriculum in the least restrictive environment while meeting their individual education needs. Assists in the implementation of the MTSS model throughout the district.JOB DUTIES: Lead, manage and oversee Student Services Department, including 504, Behavioral Health, HealthServices, Home Hospital, and other related programs.Use best practice research and data to guide program review, program implementation, and improvement efforts to increase student achievement.Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations relating to special education under theIDEA, and Section 504 of the ADA.Administer, review and interpret state and federal statutes and District policies and procedures.Develop, manage, and oversee multiple budgets, ensuring compliance with district policies and procedures and state, and federal requirements, laws, and regulations.Coordinate and manage state and federal grant programs.Works in partnership with the Director of Teaching and Learning to create and maintain a consistent and effective multi tiered system of supports model.Oversee the selection and assignment of certificated and classified staff.Develop and facilitate ongoing professional development in the area of Special Education, BehaviorHealth and other related programs.Supervise and evaluate designated staff.Collaborate with other staff members to ensure alignment of programs and services.Work with district staff and leadership, parents and community members to establish trust and build relationships that lead to positive outcomes for students.Demonstrate effective leadership, communication and facilitation skills in addressing concerns and issues raised by administrators, teachers, parents and other community members.Function as a positive team member and communicator in proactive and constructive ways to manage changing requirements and multiple demands.Performs other duties as assigned.
