Job Description : Urban Farming/Gardening Job OpportunityJob description: This job speaks to those who have an interest in organic gardening practices. Our family-run business installs and maintains edible gardens in residential and public settings. We are a FAMILY of passionate hard workers that are seeking a new member for our team. Must understand what professionalism is and have customer service-based skills. Farm and/or agricultural experience is a plus. Must have a willingness to learn, COMMON SENSE, a good sense of humor, be able to work with strong personalities, work hard, be able to work outside in AZ heat, have no fear of getting dirt under your nails, and be able to roll with the “punches”.Job duties include:- Care and maintain client gardens and our urban farm — will train.- Plant seedlings, care for seedlings/transplants and maintain an organized workspace.- Plant seeds and seedlings at farm locations as directed.- Caring and tending to existing crops including but not limited to: harvesting, pruning, light weeding, training, fertilizing (organic only of course), and amending soils.- Assist in client plantings at various locations in the Phoenix Metro area.- Install irrigation lines as needed on the farm or at client plantings — will train.- Drive to maintenance locations. PLEASE PROVIDE US WITH A RESUME, EMAIL ADDRESS, AND PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT YOU.Base Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour- Insurance benefits of health, dental, life available.- Farm produce available to take home weekly.- This is a contract labor position for 30 days with 40 hours per week and then will transition to a w2 position after trial period.- Mon-Fri with availability to work an occasional weekends when necessary (rare occasion).- MUST BE: DETAIL ORIENTED & METICULOUS with speed and efficiency in mind, have a positive attitude, dependable, hard-working and eager to learn.- MUST be able to lift 40 lbs and be able to bend and work on knees when needed.- This is a very physically active position and stamina is a must.- MUST be able to work outdoors for a minimum of 8 hours in AZ summer heat.- MUST have reliable vehicle for garden maintenance and be willing to carry items in vehicle – mileage is reimbursed.- MUST be ok to work around dogs, cats, & chickens.- MUST be willing to use time clock app on personal cell phone.Job Type: Full-timePay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hourBenefits:Dental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayOvertimeSupplemental Pay:Bonus payCOVID-19 considerations:90% of position is outside.
