Position : Engineering Project Manager
Job Description : The project manager is responsible for the general oversight and optimization of our highly skilled engineering team, the maintenance of all company vessels, vehicles and shop spaces. This is a fast paced marine workshop requiring the Project Manager to work in conjunction with the management team to ensure departmental goals and efficiency standards are being met. One of the primary responsibilities of the Project Manager is to coordinate and support the maintenance staff in attaining their operational goals in meeting department and Captain Andy’s Sailing first class standards. You will be responsible for ensuring our Engineering Department is well coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching our staff.Job FunctionThe Project Manager will operate in parallel with the management team, report directly to the General Manager and work in conjunction with the Operations Manager to ensure vessel equipment and safety standards are upheld. The Project Manager must be well versed in all functions of the operations and maintenance department. Daily operations include but are not limited to: personnel management, inventory management, and department workflow.You will be an essential part of the development and long term success of the Engineering Department here at Captain Andy’s Sailing. Understanding of contextual reporting and presentationsAssist with development and integration of management tactics and flow.Curate and manage departmental publications for the GMTrack project material shipments and provide GM progress updatesServing as the primary point of contact with all vendors related to equipment and inventory purchasesStaying on good terms with 100% of our vendors – keeping a peaceful, happy and cohesive relationshipOverseeing and Tracking Inventory. Ensuring we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the correct equipment, maintaining solid inventory data and reducing expensesOrdering and Receiving all inventoryKeeping inventory costs within budgeted guidelines as determined by the AGM and GMPerforming monthly inventory and budget reports.
