CFNC was established in 1984 by mothers living in public housing after seventeen of their children were failed by the system and did not move on to the first grade. Our founders were so successful, our first class was recognized as gifted by their public school!Today, CFNC is an Alexandria-based network of eight free, high-quality, bi-lingual, caring preschool classrooms that provide children with the tools they need to succeed in school and in life.CFNC’s low-income, working immigrant parents know what is best for their families, and their three- and four-year old children have the potential within themselves to thrive. Unfortunately, racial equity gaps caused by systemic racism and heightened by COVID-19 make it harder to access the resources required to meet their basic and holistic health needs, access high quality early childhood education services, achieve long-term goals, and build generational wealth. Our model empowers families to leverage resources provided and coordinated by CFNC to access these supports, including free multilingual preschool education, family case management, and health services (in English and Spanish, Arabic, or Amharic). We provide these accessible, wraparound services in their neighborhoods, including full-day support for families who work longer hours. CFNC serves as a partner for children and families as they work to achieve these goals themselves.SUMMARYCFNC seeks a compassionate, values-driven, and collaborative leader to become its next Executive Director. In collaboration with and reporting to the Board of Directors, its Chairman, and Executive Committee, the Executive Director I Chief Executive Officer (EDICEO) will provide leadership for the continued development and implementation of CFNC’s mission, policies, strategic direction, external partners, and annual goals and objectives. The EDICEO shall act as the duly authorized representative of the Board in all matters except those in which the Board has formally designated some other person or group to act.The ideal candidate is an inclusive leader with a passion for providing caring, high-quality, free education and support services to low-income children and their families. They will center racial equity in their work, both internally and externally. Additionally, they will be a committed team leader and a proven developer of strategic partnerships who is comfortable speaking with diverse stakeholders, including young children and their families, community leaders, funders, local government officials, and other partners.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESVision and strategic leadership: Collaborate with the Board, staff, families, and key stakeholders to set and achieve clear goals.Team management and leadership: Provide inspirational, supportive, and empowering leadership for a diverse, deeply passionate, committed, and high-performing team, investing in the staff’s continued professional development.Operations and financial management: Oversee operations, including effective financial management and accreditation compliance.Fundraising: In collaboration with the Board and the Director of Development, steward existing funder relationships and implement expanded funding strategies that generate new revenue.External engagement and advocacy: Develop and cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including nonprofits, funders, local government agencies, early childhood education partners, and Board members.QUALIFICATIONSDemonstrated passion for and commitment to CFNC’s mission.Aptitude for cultivating strong relationships, building trust, and collaborating with a highly diverse set of internal and external stakeholders to achieve clear goals.Experience cultivating, closing, and stewarding funding relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporations. An open, inclusive, and equitable team management style, with a record of success managing individuals and teams.Experience centering equity as a key lens of all internal and external work.Experience overseeing a department or organizational finances.Experience with and knowledge of early childhood education, including NAEYC accreditation process and procedures, preferred.Senior level experience with an early childhood education program or a non-profit organization desired.Experience with tracking local, state and Federal government policies as they gain and lose traction, managing, and adapting to policy change.Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.Spanish language proficiency preferred.Masters degree is a plus.EEO STATEMENTThe Child and Family Network Centers is an equal opportunity employer and service provider.Job Type: Full-time
