The Music Expression team is focused on enabling creative expression through and around music by artists, aspiring creators, and fans. Our products are used at scale – over 1,000,000 active artists in Spotify for Artists and more than 380,000,000 listeners. As the Head of Music Expression Product, you will establish and grow a team of product managers, product designers, and product insights professionals who, with a team of dedicated engineers, will build on the momentum of early features like Canvas to create the future ways that artists can share and express on Spotify and how fans can participate and respond. This is a high-profile and strategic area for the company that will enrich the Spotify experience and propel user growth.
What you’ll do
Own the vision for artist and listener-facing experiences of expression formats and the content experience Spotify offers fans
Lead our evolution of current products in-market for music expression.
Lead the development of new strategies and business models for music expression to help artists and their teams build an audience and cultivate fandom.
Develop a deep understanding of both artist and listener needs that informs the systems we design for artists and fans to engage one another
Lead a cross functional team including product management, design, user research, analytics to achieve success as a unit
Collaborate closely with marketing and music teams to design and tune products based on market feedback and to drive cohesive go-to-market strategies
Ensure healthy teams of PMs, designers, researchers, analysts
Be an influential member of the Music Mission leadership team, responsible for our holistic music proposition
Who you are
You are passionate about serving creators and in improving the music economy for all
You love music and you are a keen observer of internet culture
You have a proven track record of effectively leading and executing a scaled consumer product.
You are experienced at managing organizations with cross-functional product development skill sets (technology, product management, design, data science)
You are an inclusive people leader with a track record of building and managing healthy teams that drive impact
You have experience managing managers
Experience leading complex strategic initiatives. Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills
Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
