Position : Instructor of Interdisciplinary Studies
Job Description : The Department of Humanities seeks to fill a full-time, term faculty position at the Instructor level. This position is fully remote to teach classes in online degree program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primarily teach Introduction to Interdisciplinary Studies and Senior Capstone in Humanities
Teach upper-level electives and online courses dependent on demand in one or more disciplines in the humanities
Maintain office hours and provide mentorship for students
Assist in curriculum development and review
Engage in professional development
Engage in service to the department, college, and university
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Experience in interdisciplinary research
Dedication to ensuring excellence in curriculum delivery, development, and assessment of an interdisciplinary degree
Commitment to the role of a comprehensive university in a multi-cultural setting
Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students in general education and field and study
Ability and willingness to learn all software specific to Central State University that is required to perform duties
Ability and willingness to teach fully online courses
Expertise in cutting-edge online pedagogy and assessment is highly desirable
Minimum Qualifications
Education: M.A. in Humanities or closely related field; demonstrated of interdisciplinary study is preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience. Evidence of effective teaching, assessment, and curriculum development preferred.
