Position : Medical Records/Mail Clerk
Job Description : Great opportunity to join a well-respected, award-winning, fast-growing healthcare company based in Dallas-Ft. Worth with locations throughout Texas, as well as in California and Colorado.
This position is located at our home office in Plano, TX at 3033 W. President George Bush Fwy, 75075.
The Medical Records/Mail Clerk performs various clerical and administrative duties, including scanning, faxing, data entry, various paperwork, and specific projects as assigned.
Major Responsibilities:
Supports the Reimbursement team with audit or medical records requests (printing, scanning, and submission via mail, fax, and uploading to portals).
Documents the patient account of audits or medical records request as received, submitted, and payor results.
Documents all audits or medical records request on the tracking spreadsheet as received, submission, and payor results.
Copies and scans documents such as correspondence, EOBs, ERNs, etc
Ensures scanned papers are assigned to the appropriate patient account.
Labels each document and uses appropriate naming conventions as outlined in the policy.
Prioritizes workload according to reimbursement needs and/or as instructed by the Reimbursement Manager.
Assists routing correspondence timely and to appropriate team members and/or management.
Performs other tasks or special projects as assigned.
Understands and adheres to all external accreditation review standards applicable to state, local, and Federal laws and/or regulations, including maintaining patient confidentiality through abiding by HIPAA laws/regulations.
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers and all company employees.
Displays a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.
Meets expectations for customer/patient satisfaction and anticipates customer/patient needs.
Takes initiative to present ideas/suggestions to management.
Follows appropriate organizational lines in resolving questions, concerns, and ideas.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are required.
The ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and multitask is required.
Experience with CPR+ and/or prior scanning experience is preferred.
