Job Description : JOB DESCRIPTION: Laundress
Schedule: Live-out, Part-time, 3 days a week
(approx. 8 hrs. a day)
Salary: $30-35/hr
Location: Great Falls, VA
Staff: Full-time Nanny, Cleaner (2 times per week)
Overview:
A wonderful active family with three kids and another on the way is seeking an experienced Laundress to assist with the family laundry responsibilities. The candidate must be experienced working in a nice house and be able to demonstrate skills in all aspects of caring for, storing, and handling clothing and linens. The culture of the home is informal but the expectations for quality service and efficiency are high. A positive, pleasant, willing-to-please type of personality would do well here.
Job Requirements:
Full-service laundress, including but not limited to:Identifying fabrics and proper careOrganizing, separating and washing all household laundry and linensLight pressing, steaming and mending or alterations of clothingOrganizing the client’s wardrobe (seasonally)Folding and storing clothing and household linensSorting and sending items for dry cleaning, as neededMaintaining inventory of clothing and linensPerforming spot removal or arranging for professional cleaningMaintaining supplies in the laundry roomKeeping laundry equipment clean and well-maintained
Candidate Qualities:
Prefer someone who is kind, friendly, and honestProfessional with relevant experienceGood communicatorGenerally, knows what to do, requires minimal direction, and is open to feedbackCan adjust to and accommodate changing circumstancesMust have a good command of English
Compensation and Benefits:
$30-35/hour
