Job Description : Production Technician – Small format productionProduction Technician needed to start as soon as possible working 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Monday – Friday with occasional overtime) for Schilling Inc. Technician participates in day-to-day ink production for the Greeley, CO site. Follows strict formulas to produce a high-quality product. Adheres to the work schedule for department operations in conjunction with production schedule. Responsible for understanding and following of all policies, practices, and standard operating procedures pertaining to the employee policies, Environmental Health & Safety and Information Technology for the position and partnering with team members.Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Responsible for mixing and staging inks.2) Makes additions to inks as needed to adjust the color as requested.3) Checks schedule and print jobs to make/stage the required inks for specific jobs.4) Moves into and out of inventory storage.5) Maintains ink room inventories (links, solvents, adhesive, operating supplies).6) Reviews job tickets to verify ink components are available and used as specified.7) Inventory management to ensure inventory levels stay at the operational level.8) Must be able to work schedule of customer demands which may include some overtime when needed.9) Adheres to workplace schedule and all aspects of production to meet and exceed customer requirements and expectations including:a) Completing production work schedule in the company’s ERP system,b) Reporting of raw material inventory Lead/Supervisor,c) Maintaining all production materials and reporting to Lead/Supervisor in a timely manner when inventory is low.10) Observes company employee practices and policies including:a) Adhering to work schedule and timely attendance of work hours,b) Partners with team members for best practices and outcomes,c) Cross-training and learning of new skills and maintaining competency in skills already gained,d) Articulates full understanding of who/where to go if questions/problems arise.11) Maintains the highest quality and safety standards through compliance with the Schilling Inc. Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct as well as Total Quality System and Environmental Health & Safety Practices.12) Demonstrates consistent, clear, and proactive workmanship that will motivate and partner with team members and produce the highest quality products.13) Has a full working knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).14) Committed to continuous improvement initiatives and work alignment of business objectives and goals.15) Improves production and processes by identifying and communicating ideas/thoughts to which will improve safety, increase production, and reduce overall costs.16) Maintains equipment used on the job and reports any maintenance issues.17) Has a working knowledge of all equipment used for the position.18) Keeps open line of communication with Lead/Supervisor.19) Participates in mandatory training and retraining for aspects of work quality and safety practice.20) Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Graduate or GEDExperience in a manufacturing setting a plus.Experience with using an ERP based system is preferred.3-5+ years of experience in printing and knowledge of ink procedures, preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color acuity and the ability to focus. Must have good judgment of color required for Color Hue evaluation.Ability to pass color test.Ability to work around strong odors as inks may be solvent based.Must be flexible and able to work overtime as needed.Must be able to work independently.Demonstrated ability to understand and/or operate all related equipment.Excellent communication skills.Ability to work with others.Basic computer skills including keyboarding.Basic math skills.Job Type: Full-timePay: $18.50 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayOvertimeEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Work Location: One location
