Position Summary
The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) is one of the world’s preeminent scientific and cultural institutions. The Museum is renowned for its exhibitions and scientific collections, which serve as a field guide to the entire planet and present a panorama of the world’s cultures. The AMNH is seeking a full time reservation representative to provide exemplary service to guests. The Reservation Representative is responsible for representing the Museum to the public via direct phone interactions with Museum visitors and members.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Create reservations on behalf of the museum over the phone providing a positive experience for all callers by answering a wide range of questions; enhance the visitor’s experience and present the Museum as an educational environment.
Book group visits and suggest itineraries using the ticketing system; help visitors make the best use of their time while at the museum.
Make outbound calls related to upcoming Museum programs.
Inform visitors of program changes, including venue changes and availability.
Provide additional information to visitors and potential visitors about the Museum as needed.
Perform clerical task such as mailing and faxing materials as requested.
Required Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of work experience in a high-volume customer service environment or call center.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Strong communication skills: the ability to effectively articulate and retain information.
Must agree to follow and promote all health and safety procedures as detailed by the museum.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Museum ticketing systems and organization programs are high desirable
