Job Description : Fidem Financial is a small and rapidly growing asset manager with 3.5 years of demonstrated consistent success with financial transactions we source, structure, and manage for investors. Now with more than $3B in completed asset acquisitions, we are adding to the team to help take our business to the next level. We’re searching for a highly skilled individual who will contribute to Fidem’s growth by enhancing our risk management capabilities.This key contributor serves as the credit and operational risk analyst for the Chief Risk Officer. This position will establish internal monitoring, complete compliance testing, and recommend strategies, policies, procedures, processes, and programs to identify and prevent violations of law, rule, or regulation by the company and our servicing vendors. In addition, this position engages with Fidem Operations, Portfolio Conversion team and servicing vendors to partner to deliver effective compliance risk management across the organization.The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in compliance risk management, preferably in the financial services industry.ResponsibilitiesAssisting and supporting senior staff in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of best-in-class credit and operational risk programs, policies, and practices.Assesses the credit and financial strength of Fidem’s portfolios and prospective portfolios by performing fundamental credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative factors.Evaluates credit risk of portfolios and escalates concerns to senior management with recommended solutions.Establishes and oversees the application of operational risk policies, technology, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risksMaintaining reports for control, tracking, and analysis purposesWorking with CRO to investigate and respond to credit and operational risk management issues.Participating in Due Diligence reviews with prospective servicers and for prospective portfolio purchases.Preparing and presenting a monthly risk update summarizing important risk deliverables for executive management.Interacting and working with other areas within FIDEM and partners as necessary.Qualifications5+ years’ experience in credit or operational risk functions supporting financial servicesWell-developed analytical skills, including an understanding of key financial components with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate issuesExperience forming independent opinions on credit quality and recognizing emerging risksConfident written and verbal communicator—able to convey complex ideas and drive stakeholder support to move risk priorities forward.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organizationStrong project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one timeStrong knowledge of office products (Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, Powerpoint, Word)Self-motivated, enthusiastic, industrious, and hardworking. Incisive thinker who moves fast and likes to get things done. Self-driven, resourceful, has grit, and a positive “can do” attitude.Sound business judgment with confirmed ability to influence others, and a consistent track record of taking ownership and driving results.Comfortable with quickly changing priorities and conditions; copes effectively with complexity and change.
