The Office carries out this mission by creatively promoting the organization’s reputation for high-quality, innovative care and all the ways the hospital helps patients, families and communities “Stay Amazing.” The Social Media team is responsible for overseeing the strategy and content for 12 owned channels that represent the entire NewYork-Presbyterian enterprise, encompassing 10 hospitals across the Greater New York area, more than 200 primary and specialty care clinics and medical groups, and an array of telemedicine services. This team works to identify and communicate stories about the institution’s leadership in research and innovation, strategic service lines and patient care, unique human interest stories, role in the community, and important public health information, as well as engage and partner with relevant digital outlets to help increase reach and engagement across all social media outlets.
Position Summary
Social Media Associates strategize, implement, coordinate, track and develop social media content that supports the hospital’s strategic and service line priorities.
Essential Job Duties
Oversees the strategy, coordination, development and execution of social media content and stories to support Service Line initiatives and hospital priorities
Meets and maintains relationships with NewYork-Presbyterian physicians, nurses, service line administrators and staff to identify and develop story ideas and opportunities that elevate the hospital
Analyzes and reports on social growth and campaign effectiveness; translates findings into concrete recommendations for optimizing future campaigns and stories. Responsible for analytics and reporting on all social media initiatives.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders to incorporate social media into key organizational initiatives and events
Monitors and evaluates trends in social media for best practices. Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for the hospital.
Drafts and manages editorial calendar for each social media channel (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram)
Monitors channels 24/7 to ensure that adverse or positive posts on the hospital’s social media sites or other social media sites are appropriately managed. This may include working directly with Senior Leadership and night and weekend hours
Tracks, monitors and responds to social media conversations to enhance patient experience
Preferred Criteria
Experience with Sprinkler and social media trends
Required Criteria:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
3-5 years of related work experience
Proficiency with using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linked In, as well as comprehensive understanding of the social media landscape.
Strong writing skills and proficiency and interest in photography and videography
Has the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
