Technology Transformation / Infrastructure & Service Resiliency

THE OPPORTUNITY
Our “IT Infrastructure and Service Resiliency” (ISR) group, within the Technology Transformation practice, is the harmonization of business continuity, infrastructure technical strategy and architecture around disaster recovery, availability, performance, agility, interoperability, optimization, security, and compliance.
ISR is a rapidly growing group, with exponential growth plans in the following focus areas:
Business Continuity Management – Enable organizations to prepare for disaster events by helping them identify their most critical business processes and the associated dependencies. Includes Business Continuity Planning, Crisis Management, Impact analysis, etc.Disaster Recovery, Data Center and Cloud Infrastructure Services – Technology solutions spanning all elements within a data center including servers, storage, end-user computing and cloud based infrastructure services. Expertise with AWS, Azure and other public cloud environments is a plus.Connected Business Services – Technology solutions involved in securely connecting businesses and systems, including enterprise networks, mobility solutions, collaboration suites, core foundational and security infrastructure and emerging solutions such as internet of things (IoT) and software defined networks.
Our ISR professionals deal with the most critical infrastructure projects ranging from helping organizations recover from ransomware attacks, architecting state of the art data centers, designing next generation networks to enhancing system resilience for our clients’ mission critical systems. Daily, on every project we engage in, our ISR team plays a pivotal role in enabling our client to secure and improve their IT infrastructure.
We are looking for professionals who can independently manage teams that are delivering impactful results on mission critical IT infrastructure projects and share our passion to work closely with clients to guide them through their IT infrastructure transformational journey.
Senior Manager
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a “Senior Manager” in the ISR practice, we expect you to have a strong technical foundation to deliver IT infrastructure projects combined with experience in selling technical solutions through professional services and consulting engagements to address complex technology problems. Your key responsibilities will include:
Technical knowledge – Providing subject matter expertise in at least one of the above ISR focus areas with enough hands-on work experience to be able to deploy and guide multiple consulting teams concurrently on clients’ engagements. Preferably diverse knowledge across the board on ISR and other technology transformation areas to be able to handle larger engagements that span multiple groups.Service Delivery Management – Effectively handle large teams executing mission critical projects Responsibilities include managing communications with very senior IT leaders and delivering services as per contractual agreements.Client Relationship Management – Maintain relationships with key sponsors and executives within client organizations and effectively leverage EY leadership and account teams to integrate other EY service lines to improve value of services delivered to the client.New business development – Lead key pursuits and work with account teams to expand business in existing accounts. You will also be responsible for continuous improvement of our service delivery templates and work products in your area of expertise by engaging the practice team to review and enhance work products from various engagements.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or similar disciplineMinimum of 15 years following a Bachelor’s degree or 10 years following a Master’s degree10+ years expertise in implementing or managing IT infrastructure services in the focus area(s) described aboveDemonstrated experience in leading IT infrastructure engagements with strong involvement in sales process, service delivery exposure and managing senior level client relationshipsDemonstrated 7+ years of experience in managing engagements and exposure to professional services or consulting engagementsWilling and able to travel up to 80% of the time
What we look for
a. Strong technical expertise in any one of the 3 focus areas
b. Diverse knowledge across IT environments or sector domains to enable management and execution of very large engagements involving resources across multiple groups.
c. Experience in working in a capacity of chief architect or technical visionary/leader to build or implement technical infrastructure.
d. Demonstrated success in owning and managing highly complex, transformational program delivery in areas such as data center consolidation, disaster recovery, cloud migrations, network transformation, etc.
e. Experience in dealing with client issues and solving them by drawing up solution scenarios that are supported with cost estimates, timelines, and action plans to resolve the situation.
f. Business Development – Experience in developing and presenting large proposals, writing SOWs for client contracts and having a strong understanding of revenue generation, margin management, and resource levelling for professional services engagements.
g. Practice Development – Provide thought leadership in developing white papers and point-of-views in areas of expertise. Participation in speaking roles at prominent public forums is a plus. Also holding any key roles within standards organizations such as ISO, ISACA, etc. is a plus.
Manager
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a “Manager” in the ISR practice, we expect you to have a strong technical foundation to deliver IT infrastructure projects that is combined with experience in working with diverse client teams on solving complex technology solutions. Your key responsibilities will include:
Technical knowledge – Providing subject matter expertise in at least one of the above ISR focus areas with enough hands-on work experience to be able to guide clients through engagements. Preferably working knowledge in a secondary area, where you’d be able to handle the management of IT infrastructure engagements.Technical Coordination and Project Management – We expect our Advisory Managers to be able to effectively handle small teams of highly skilled and efficient consultants. Responsibilities include managing communications with senior IT leaders and delivering services as per contractual agreements.Client Relationship Management – Manage working relationships with the client project teams and work through the dynamics and challenges arising during the course of the engagement. Escalate and inform EY leadership and account teams on potential issues that could impact the engagement or potential future opportunities.New business development – Contribute to key pursuits, developing white papers and point-of-views for the consumption of other practices within EY and publishing these on external platforms such as LinkedIn and work with practice groups to establish leading practices.

f. Strong skills to manage conflicts and collaborate to work with teams towards achieving results.
g. Business Development – Experience in developing contractual scope for client contracts and having an overall understanding of how revenue is generated in professional services engagements (billing rate, margins, etc.)
h. Practice Development – Provide thought leadership in developing white papers and point-of-views in areas of expertise.
Senior
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a “Senior Consultant” in the ISR practice, we expect you to have a strong technical foundation to deliver IT infrastructure projects that is combined with experience in working with diverse client teams on solving complex technology solutions. Your key responsibilities will include:
Technical knowledge – Subject matter expertise in at least one of the ISR focus areas. You will be expected to have enough hands-on work experience to be able to guide clients through transformation initiatives.Communication and Coordination Skills – Maintaining communications with senior IT leaders and business teams within clients’ organizations, presenting to them on technical solutionsClient Relationship Management – Developing relationships with the client project teams and understanding the dynamics within client organizations to be able to navigate and raise issues to EY management to deliver resultsAnalytical Skills – Rapidly assimilate the acquired data and use your technical knowledge to perform analysis. This will be the foundation for developing recommendations and the “next steps” strategy. We expect our candidates to possess strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.
