As part of a global communications team, this role is responsible for supporting internal and external executive communications for the Global Services Group (GSG), which is comprised of colleagues and partners who deliver extraordinary care to our Card Members, merchants, and commercial clients, while providing world-class credit, collections, and fraud services, as well as several shared services that help to power American Express. Reporting to the Director, GSG Corporate Affairs & Communications, the Coordinator will work closely with colleagues across markets to create, plan and coordinate colleague communications and engagement programs, support executive communications, and develop ongoing and engaging editorial features for the GSG intranet site. In addition, this role will support intranet publishing, and multi-media initiatives including video production and graphic design, across a range of communications channels and formats.
The specific job responsibilities include:
Partner with key stakeholders to manage our editorial program and develop news and feature content for the GSG intranet site and Slack channel
Write and develop communications such as video treatments and scripts, internal blogs, talking points, email newsletters, FAQs, executive messages, and organization announcements
Partner with the team to develop creative and impactful global strategies and communication approaches that help drive employee engagement and articulate change across a variety of channels
Support logistics for global town halls and executive meetings including PowerPoint design
Manage GSG email distribution lists and mailbox activity
Support the design and creation of visual assets and templates that can be used across a variety of media and channels, including digital signage, and infographics etc.; manage external vendors as needed
Partner with CA&C colleagues to drive coordination, consistency, and agility in global communications, roll out visual communications and branding across markets
Provide support for enterprise, GSG functional, and local market programs and initiatives as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in web/graphic design, experience in Jive, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or InDesign desired
Entry level video production skills (producing, filming, editing, photography, animation, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in communications or related role
Superior written, verbal, and multi-media communication skills
Ambitious self-starter who is passionate about writing, storytelling, and crafting compelling and effective communications, reaching a broad global audience
Uses creative and strategic thinking to problem-solve and come up with fresh and innovative ideas
Team player with a proven ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues to support large-scale initiatives
Excellent discretion and judgment
Ability to meet deadlines of multiple priorities
Familiarity with digital asset management using Microsoft SharePoint, OneDrive, and more
Understanding of company brand guidelines
Keen awareness of techniques and approaches that are trending in social media and other popular culture platforms
