Position : Data Entry Clerk (Temporary – 12 weeks)
Job Description : 1. Summary:
A Data Entry Clerk is responsible for reading underwriting source documents and typing the data from these source documents into an electronic database.
2. Functions:a. Read source documents, including, but not limited to insurance applications, and transfer data into specific data fields using a computer keyboard;b. Responsible for updating existing data;c. Responsible for verifying the accuracy of the entered data by comparing it to source documents, and making corrections as necessary;d. Responsible for reviewing source documents for completeness and requesting updated documents;e. Assist client relations staff with clerical and administrative assistance as needed;f. Assist underwriters, certificate processors and client relations staff on a daily basis as needed or directed;g. May perform relief work within department or for other departments as needed; and,h. Perform other general clerical duties such as copying, faxing, scanning, and paperless filing.
3. Qualifications:a. Minimum of one year experience in a data entry capacity required;b. High school diploma, General Educational Development certificate or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required;c. Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and tabulations;d. Proficient with Microsoft Office and typing;e. Ability to work in an office environment with moderate noise level, ability able to work flexible hours, and the ability to travel to other offices and client, carrier, and prospect work sites as required; and,f. Residency in the State of New Jersey in accordance with the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, et seq., unless otherwise exempted.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $17.00 per hour
