Salary Information* Minimum Salary: $41,164.42 Maximum Salary A: $62,345.40 Maximum Salary B: $55,813.14 SHOULD ANOTHER POSITION BECOME AVAILABLE WITHIN THE NEXT FIVE MONTHS OFTHE CLOSING DATE OF THIS RECRUITMENT, THE APPLICANT POOL FROM THISPOSTING MAY BE USED TO FILL ADDITIONAL POSITIONS.
Note: This position may qualify for up to 1 day of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings based on position. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access. This program does not supersede the “New Jersey First Act”, which requires newly hired Judiciary employees to establish and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
Effective February 1, 2022, the New Jersey Judiciary will require all state court judges and staff to provide to Human Resources either (1) proof of initial vaccination and booster against COVID-19 once eligible to receive the booster; or (2) results of weekly tests for COVID-19. This information is maintained in a secure Judiciary application that is accessible only by a limited group of Human Resources staff.
Example of Duties
The New Jersey Judiciary has an advancement opportunity available for employees of the Hudson Vicinage. Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b (Civil Division Manager), or other supervisory personnel, the successful candidates will assist in all specialized court support functions relating to case processing, including but not limited to, review case status and provide information to judges, division managers, attorneys or litigants; generate and review incoming correspondence, memos, reports or emails for completeness, clarity and accuracy; consult with co-workers in the development or revision of regulations, guidelines or policies; explain Judiciary policies or procedures to clients or customers; facilitate movement of case related matters; perform court clerk functions, calendar management, customer service, records management, and other functions required for effective case management within a team environment. Performs related work as required.

Eligibility for Advancement: Eligibility is based upon the applicants having achieved all the competencies for advancement to Judiciary Clerk 3 as listed on the Career Progression Eligibility Form for this title. Applicants for advancement to the Judiciary Clerk 3 title are not required to take a New Jersey Civil Service Commission promotional examination.
Experience Requirement: One year of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments.
Supplemental Information
Driver’s License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
Residency Law: Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the “New Jersey First Act,” all persons newly hired by the Judiciary must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
Minimum Salary Note: For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.
Maximum Salary Note: Maximum Salary A is for Judiciary employees hired prior to August 21, 2014 and Maximum Salary B is for newly hired individuals or Judiciary employees hired on or after August 21, 2014.
