Job Description : Patient Experience Coordinator/Front Desk
Summary:
As a Patient Experience Coordinator, you are the patient’s first point of contact for patient care, providing high quality customer service. Patient Experience Coordinators are responsible to check patients in, check patients out, go over financial treatment plans, capture demographic data, research and update insurance coverage, answer phones, fill schedule voids, confirm appointments and connect with our patients to help achieve and coordinate an Exceptional Patient Experience. Required to be available to work the hours that meet the needs of the office.
Responsibilities:
Solid understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of dental insurance.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks with a smile.
Proficient with electronic records and other areas of technology associated with a clinical (dental) environment.
Schedule patients for all providers and manage the daily schedule.
Perform patient account management, including patient registration using Open Dental Software.
Create patient records.
Review and maintain patient accounts accurately. Ability to explain ledger balances to patients.
Understand the purpose of all clinic forms as they relate to patient care (i.e., patient records, financial forms, and insurance contracts).
Understand and implement patient flow process, including full registration process.
Perform patient management, including check in and check out procedures; assisting other departments as needed.
Manage incoming phone calls, delivering, and returning messages in a timely manner.
Present patient treatment plans.
Verify and coordinate patient benefits with patient’s treatment.
Enter patient treatment, treatment presentation and appoint patients.
Check-out process including scheduling and collecting money.
Post and reconcile financial transactions. Prepare bank deposits.
Basic accounting requirements.
Create, submit, manage and follow up on insurance claims.
Monthly accounts receivable reporting.
Keep a neat, organized front office and personal appearance.
Misc. office duties as necessary.
Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent
Dental/medical experience preferred
Previous customer service experience required
Overall knowledge and understanding of dental terminology a plus
Internet/computer savvy
Warm and pleasant personality
Detail oriented
Strong verbal and mathematical aptitude
