Position : Machine/Packaging Operator

Job Description : Insulfoam in Anchorage has an immediate opening for a Temporary Machine Operator who will operate or tend machines along with packaging polystyrene blocks according to exacting standards of work orders.

Shift & Pay Rate

Day Shift Monday through Thursday from 8am to 4pm with possible overtime required. Must be flexible and open to working swing shift if needed. This position is seasonal from April to September with the potential for conversion.

$20.50/hour

Job Responsibilities:

Operate and perform basic troubleshooting of glue machines
Fabricate all orders to customers’ specifications
Set up, operate, and perform basic troubleshooting of laminators to include flying knives, and ensuring that each machine is pre-positioned with purchased material
Follow daily work orders assigned to each lamination crew
Package and load all orders properly and ensure highest quality of finished product
Maintain accurate inventory of purchased goods and finished goods and keep everything organized
Prior experience in a related manufacturing field up to four (4) years preferred
Able to use measuring gauges such as tape measures
Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills
Ability to effectively communicate
Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations
This position uses the following equipment in the course of the job duties: laminator, press, tape measure, and radio.
This position conducts their work in a manufacturing environment with some exposure to the outdoors; there is exposure to loud machinery, fumes, odors, and dust. Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in shift hours and days of the week worked.
For this position, it is required to be able to lift up to 50 pounds. There is a repetitive use of hands required with being able to lift or carry and push or pull up to 50 pounds. This position also requires standing constantly, walking frequently, and sitting, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder, climbing, and bending occasionally.
While working on the production floor, eye and hearing protection is always required. Other forms of PPE may be required as defined by management
