Position : Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
Job Description : Walt Disney World Resort is looking for an experienced occupational Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to provide clinical care at our health services clinic. This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of five 8-hour shifts per week. Working on weekends will be required.
You will be part of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Health Services Department and will report directly to the Chief Physician for Walt Disney World.
Responsibilities :
Provide quality medical care based on medical protocols established by the Walt Disney World Chief Physician and within the scope of their state’s license.
You will work collaboratively with a wide group of medical and non-medical personnel to provide high-quality health care to patients. You will conduct physical examinations, and fitness-for-duty assessments as well as treat illnesses and injuries sustained by employees during working hours (both urgent and scheduled).
Medically evaluate and treat occupationally related medical conditions, including ordering appropriate medication and work restrictions. You will do this with a focus on minimizing disability and early return to work
You will make recommendations for appropriate referrals when applicable using the policies established by Health Services and the Workers Compensation Department
Gain knowledge of the health promotion resources available to Cast Members and counsel them in their use as medically indicated to support overall health improvement.
Analyze and interpret patients’ histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost, invasiveness, simplicity, acceptability, adherence, and efficacy. Develop treatment plans, based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
You will also prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized.
Counsel patients regarding drug interactions and medical conditions that may impact their ability to perform their role safely. Also counsel on drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances.
Consult with, or refer patients to, appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise.
Diagnose or treat complex, unstable, comorbid, episodic, or emergency conditions in collaboration with other health care providers as necessary.
Maintain current knowledge of state legal regulations for nurse practitioner practice, including reimbursement of services.
Maintain departmental policies and procedures in areas such as safety and infection control.
Basic Qualifications :
Current Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license in the State of Florida.
Certification to perform DOT Medical Examinations by the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners
Demonstrated experience treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal disorders, dermatological conditions, and possible inhalation exposures
Preferred Qualifications:
National Certification in Occupational, Family, Emergency, or Orthopedics
Bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole
Required Education :
APRN Master’s Degree in Nursing
BCLS Certification
