Job Purpose:
‘The Lead – Data Science role
Establishes and drives modelling tools and techniques
Leads the team in identifying opportunies for adding business value
Leads a high performing team of Data Scientists
Roles & Responsibilities:
‘- Understands business problems and solving them with analytical techniques
Establish analytical framework for different business problems and drives outcomes
Identify and scope business requirements and priorities through rigorous information gathering and analysis as well as clarification of the solutions, initiatives and programmes to enable effective delivery.
Specify and create data structures and models, including the setting of various parameters and fields that can be modified to suit different structured and unstructured data requirements, the design of data flow, as well as the development of mechanisms for maintenance, storage and retrieval of data based on the business requirements
Develop and implement guidelines, processes and workflows across the organisation for the handling of data at various stages in its lifecycle as well as the provision of advice on proper data handling and resolution of data breaches in a range of complex, ambiguous or multi-faceted contexts
Develop a robust and coherent data strategy and support architectures, policies, practices and procedures that enable the organisation to manage and utilise data in an effective manner.
Implement latest machine learning / AI techniques, dynamic visual displays with illustrative and interactive graphics to present patterns, trends, analytical insights from data or new concepts in a strategic manner for the senior stakeholders across the organization
Monitor and integrate emerging technology trends and developments, structured data gathering for the identification of new and emerging technological products, services and techniques.
Design and refine solutions to guide the development of tech solutions to meet current and future business modelling needs.
Manage stakeholder expectations and needs by aligning those with requirements and objectives of the organisation.
Identify and evaluate innovative business opportunities provided by new technologies to establish new services or businesses to enhance customer value.
Develop, select and apply machine learning algorithms, models and advanced computational methods to enable systems to learn, improve, adapt and produce desired outcomes or tasks. This also involves the interpretation of data, including the application of data modelling techniques to explore and address a specific issues or requirement
Managerial & Leadership Responsibilities
‘- Develops individual talent by providing ongoing feedback and creating individual development plans to enable people to reach their full potential
Recognizes the current needs and identify problems in order to provide practical solutions for them in light of the “big picture”. Display the ability to identify root cause, critically reviews facts and understand the complex interrelatedness amongst various business activities.
Provides authentic feedback consistently and shares developmental guidance. Recognizes individual’s achievements & offers positive reinforcement through various channels
Leads research and training activities for the team
