Position : Driver License Examiner
Job Description : THE POSITION
This position is responsible for conducting standardized knowledge and skills examinations to evaluate the skill and competence of non-commercial or Commercial Driver License (CDL) applicants.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Driver License Examiner conducts standardized examinations to evaluate the skill and competence of CDL or Non-CDL Driver License applicants and determines the physical and driving qualifications of applicants and the mechanical conditions of vehicles for conformance to the established standards necessary for safe driving. This position has direct contact with customers, works independently and a part of a team and reports to the Driver License Center Supervisor. Please click on link to see full position description. Full-time employment, 40 hour work week
Work Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:15 am to 4:45 pm, with a 30 minute lunch
This position requires overtime and travel.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements – One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (commonwealth title); OR Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating and providing information to the public.
Necessary Special Requirements –
All positions require an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
All positions require no suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
