Position Description:

SPR golf courses provide a high-quality golf experience for golfers. More than 200,000 rounds of golf are played annually at the courses and help is needed to smoothly run the ground maintenance operations.
We are currently hiring for several seasonal Golf Course Groundskeeper II positions. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience for upcoming full or part time benefited positions.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs manual labor on a daily basis that may include, but is not limited to:
Litter pick-up and changing garbage liners.
Raking golf course bunkers.
Raking leaves and setting golf course up for plan.
Changing flag cups.
Watering golf course manually where needed.
Digging holes.
Painting yardage markers.
Loading and unloading supplies.
Trimming or pruning hedges.
Spreading bark in flower beds.
Use hand tools and small power equipment such as a gas powered weed eater, blower, or other walk behind equipment used for maintenance of greens and grounds.
Mows greens and fairways; roughs bunkers and tee areas; cleans and rakes sand bunkers; maintains ball washers and related facilities; changes cup and tee placements.
Operates mowers, tractor and gang mowers, aerifiers, trailered equipment, and small power equipment such as drills, chain saws, grinders and buffers, solder guns, air hammers, compressors, and other tools, equipment and trucks used in golf course maintenance, construction, and repair work.
Aerifies, seeds, top dresses turf and lays sod; plants and maintains bushes and flowers.
Constructs, installs, and repairs golf course sod according to design plans and diagrams.
Digs holes and trenches to maintain or construct irrigation and drainage lines; shores excavation; installs pipe and backfills excavation; repairs and maintains irrigation systems.
Performs various landscape work including installing railroad ties for the development of flower beds, raking, digging, tree planting, pruning bushes, cutting brush and applying non-license chemicals.
Assist with adjustments to electronic irrigation system.
Reads work orders and obtains needed supplies; completes forms and writes simple reports on work; maintains accurate records of time and materials used.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Requires six month’s experiences in golf course grounds maintenance or a golf environment.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Requires the ability to work outside 95% of the time, in all types of weather conditions.
Required to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
May need to utilize some personal protective equipment such as respirator, gloves, ear protection, boots, and hats. Shifts are early morning, usually 4:30-5am-1-1:30pm and may require weekends but you will always receive two consecutive days off.
License, Certification and Other Requirements:
A current, valid Driver’s License.

Driving Abstract Information:
If you are selected to advance in this hiring process, you will be asked to obtain a complete 5-Year driving record from the Department of Licensing. We will consider all traffic tickets and convictions that you have received within 5 years, and we will score them as follows:
0 points – Parking tickets1 point each violation – Any moving violation, collision, stop sign, defective equipment, speeding, seat belt, failure to signal, cell phone and any and all moving violations4 points – each violation: Suspended license, negligent driving, reckless driving, racing5 points each violation – hit and run, vehicular assault or homicide, any DUI or alcohol related offense.
3 points maximum to be considered for employment.
