, we invite you to apply! We are seeking an HR Specialist who is enthusiastic, organized and detail focused to join our team. The ideal candidate is a critically thinking, computer savvy, skilled typist with a keen eye for detail. The City is looking for an individual of this caliber to perform high-volume data processing, troubleshooting and maintenance in the Human Resources Department for our rapidly growing City. A high degree of accuracy, proficiency and conscientiousness is required.

HR Specialist – Focus on Data Accuracy:

HR transactions are far from routine requiring analytical thinking in the effective application of policy, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions. We are looking to hire an individual who is a perfectionist when it comes to detail, organization, thoroughness, and accuracy. This position will be responsible for several diverse and technical processing including effective timing and coordination between HR actions and Payroll processing. Some of the functions/requirements include:

Support daily HRIS operations with heavy data processing from source documents within time limits
Store information accurately in electronic document storage system
Work closely with team members in a collaborative and cohesive partnership
Have an understanding of HR/Payroll operations
Assist with HRIS system upgrades, testing or implementations
Perform data compilation and audits
Possess strong analytical skills
Have the ability to work both independently and as a team member, interacting with all levels of employees and management

SUMMARY
Incumbents are required to have functional knowledge and perform administrative support in multiple human resources areas. Incumbents are responsible for data entry, maintaining employee data and electronic personnel files in the HRIS and other software systems, administering recruitment, hiring, and employee onboarding, and preparing and monitoring human resources-related reports. Incumbents are required to understand and use limited discretion in applying laws, rules, regulations, and policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, and two years of human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
